OUR PHILOSOPHY

  • We ensure that children's physical, emotional and social needs are met in a safe, caring and supportive environment
  • The best interests of the child are our paramount concern
  • We provide care in a way that -
    • protects the child from harm
    • respects the child's dignity and privacy
    • promotes the child's well-being
    • provides positive experiences to the child
  • We provide meaningful programs, which incorporate elements of play with elements of daily real-life experiences
  • We recognise freedom of choice in experiences, balanced with age-appropriate programming and opportunity to support child initiated planning
  • Children, parents, staff and relevant community members are treated with respect and their views are always considered
  • We aim to support parents in their primary caregiver role, to the greatest extent reasonably possible
  • We encourage and welcome open discussion with all on issues relevant to the Service's operation

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Yandina OSHC has an extensive Policy and Procedures manual which can be made available for you to read on enrolment of your child. For easy referencing a copy is kept next to the sign in/out book on the Parent Information Table.

ENROLMENT

Parents/guardians are required to complete an enrolment form and pay the $10 enrolment fee before any child is to attend the service. A meeting will take place on enrolment of your child. Each newly enrolled family will receive a copy of the Parent Handbook and will be given a rundown on basic operations such as staffing and programming.

PHOTOGRAPHS

On occasion your child may be photographed participating within the day to day activities we provide at OSHC. These photos may be displayed on walls as part of our programming process. When you enrol you will also be asked to complete a Photograph Permission form.

CHILD CARE BENEFIT

Parents/guardians are encouraged to contact the Dept of Families to register their children in the Child Care Benefit scheme before they start attending OSHC. The Child Care Benefit reduces the cost of BSC, ASC and VC.
